When Blind Area Waterproofing Around a House Is Needed

A blind area protects the foundation from external precipitation. Without waterproofing, it won't be able to perform its function.

Blind area waterproofing is necessary if:

the house is too damp and humid
mold and condensation appear on the walls and ceiling
the foundation begins to settle and crack
the basement, ground floor, or cellar is constantly flooded

It's essential to select the right material for blind area waterproofing, since its main function is to direct rainwater away from the base of the house, preventing soil erosion and moisture reaching the building's walls. With poor-quality waterproofing, the foundation will begin to deteriorate. A weakened foundation won't be able to support the entire structure, causing cracks to appear in the walls.

How Waterproofing Work Is Carried Out

To keep repairs on schedule and avoid a prolonged construction process, it's important to determine your budget in advance. Measurements, calculations, and document preparation are handled by the specialists at Gidropas.

Our engineer visits the site, assesses the condition of the blind area, takes measurements, provides material recommendations, and gives approximate prices. To help you stay within budget, the engineer will offer materials in three price categories — budget, mid-range, and premium. You choose the quality material that best fits your financial means.

If the approximate prices suit you, the engineer passes the information to our managers, who then prepare the final technical and commercial proposal and contract. The contract specifies the total cost, work timeline, and warranty terms. Everything is honest and transparent, with no surprises, fine print, or hidden clauses.

How Much Blind Area Waterproofing Costs

The cost of blind area waterproofing depends on the material used. We offer clients a choice of materials across different price categories — from budget to premium.

The most affordable option is roll materials. However, there's a nuance: this can only be used if the surface around the foundation is relatively level, without significant differences in elevation.

Mid-range category — bitumen mastics.

Penetrating waterproofing materials and Teflon Drain membrane are the most expensive option, but also the most reliable: the coating seals all pores and microcracks in the structure, protecting the structural elements from the destructive effects of moisture.

    Engineer Site Visit

    After a preliminary cost estimate, if the price range works for you, our engineer visits the site and prepares a technical and commercial proposal

    Calculation of Works + Materials

    We will provide recommendations on material selection and reinforcement/waterproofing technology, and calculate the exact price for your project

    Signing of the Contract

    After the technical and commercial proposal (KP) is agreed upon, we sign the contract. We start work upon receipt of an advance payment. We accept both cash and non-cash payments, with or without VAT

    Execution of Works

    We mobilize equipment, materials, and manpower, and begin waterproofing or reinforcement works

    Acceptance and Payment

    You inspect the quality of the completed work and, after signing the acceptance certificate, pay the remaining balance under the contract

    What warranty do you provide for completed works?

    The warranty for any type of waterproofing is 2 years. For injection waterproofing and foundation reinforcement, the warranty is up to 5 years.

    Why is injection waterproofing needed?

    Injection waterproofing helps to interrupt capillary flow and reduce the permeability of foundations, walls, and floor slabs. Injections of polyurethane gel (works on concrete), polyurethane resin (works on concrete and precast structures), and silicon-siloxane compounds (work on brickwork and precast structures) prevent moisture from being absorbed into the structural materials and improve the waterproofing properties of buildings.
