Why Cut-Off Waterproofing Is Needed

Cut-off waterproofing is suitable for foundations, walls, and concrete masonry, as it prevents moisture from spreading through porous materials. If the materials are made from porous compositions — such as foam block, aerated concrete block, hollow or solid brick, or lean concrete — water is absorbed and can rise up to one meter, gradually causing the structure to deteriorate.

The main problem is that groundwater and stormwater are themselves an aggressive environment, and may also carry technogenic contaminants, causing structural damage such as cracks, voids, and reinforcement spalling.

How Cut-Off Waterproofing Work Is Carried Out

If it has been decided to waterproof the walls or foundation using special compounds,
this may involve two types of work.

Penetrating Compounds

The pores are opened mechanically
or chemically
The concrete or cement-containing surfaces of the wall or foundation are moistened to allow the compound to penetrate the structure more effectively. The higher the moisture level, the better the compound's penetration
Penetrating waterproofing serves as a reinforcing measure when performing cut-off waterproofing
Injection waterproofing begins

Holes of a certain depth must be drilled into the thickness of the structure, such as the wall. The diameter should not exceed 12–20 mm, and the drilling angle is 35–45°. If a gel-based compound is planned for use, the holes can be drilled at a right angle — this decision is made by the engineer.

The prepared holes are flushed with water, after which injection packers — valves used to fill the structure with the injection compound — are inserted into them.

The holes are filled completely, after which the walls or foundation are left to set for 24 hours while the material polymerizes. The packers remain in place throughout this time; they are removed only after the material has fully polymerized, and the injection points are then sealed with an expanding cement-based sealant.

How Much Cut-Off Waterproofing Costs

The price of the service depends on the material and the scope of the work performed. Additionally, prices depend on the quality of the compound — more reliable components cost more.

It's important to understand that, in some cases, a drainage system may need to be installed beforehand, since groundwater must be diverted before waterproofing work can begin.

    After a preliminary cost estimate, if the price range works for you, our engineer visits the site and prepares a technical and commercial proposal

    Calculation of Works + Materials

    We will provide recommendations on material selection and reinforcement/waterproofing technology, and calculate the exact price for your project

    Signing of the Contract

    After the technical and commercial proposal (KP) is agreed upon, we sign the contract. We start work upon receipt of an advance payment. We accept both cash and non-cash payments, with or without VAT

    Execution of Works

    We mobilize equipment, materials, and manpower, and begin waterproofing or reinforcement works

    Acceptance and Payment

    You inspect the quality of the completed work and, after signing the acceptance certificate, pay the remaining balance under the contract

    What warranty do you provide for completed works?

    The warranty for any type of waterproofing is 2 years. For injection waterproofing and foundation reinforcement, the warranty is up to 5 years.

    Why is injection waterproofing needed?

    Injection waterproofing helps to interrupt capillary flow and reduce the permeability of foundations, walls, and floor slabs. Injections of polyurethane gel (works on concrete), polyurethane resin (works on concrete and precast structures), and silicon-siloxane compounds (work on brickwork and precast structures) prevent moisture from being absorbed into the structural materials and improve the waterproofing properties of buildings.
